The Bedale influence is easy to see in this jacket. The corduroy collar, throat latch, raglan shoulders, two-way zip and snap-fastened storm flap all come from the same practical British hunting-jacket tradition. Here, that familiar shape is recast in black 11 oz waxed canvas.
It stays closer to the character of a Barbour Bedale than a corduroy interpretation would, but it is not a direct substitute. The canvas is thicker and the wax coating is lighter, giving the jacket more body and potentially a little more warmth while offering less protection from wind and rain.
A quick clarification: NON-STOCK is the garment's brand name, not an availability notice.
Fit
The jacket has a medium-to-loose fit, with raglan shoulders and enough room through the chest for a shirt or light knitwear. Ordering a smaller size will give you a neater, more fitted look, although the body will also finish slightly shorter. Compare both the chest and back-length measurements with a lined jacket whose fit you already like.
Fabric
The shell is 11 oz, approximately 373 gsm, 100% cotton plain-weave canvas with a light wax coating. It is a substantial cloth with more structure than the lighter waxed cotton usually associated with this style. A striped blanket lining covers the upper body, while smooth nylon through the lower body and sleeves makes layering easier.
Construction
A YKK two-way zip sits behind a snap-fastened storm flap. Two flapped chest pockets and large lower bellows pockets provide the main storage, with separate side-entry hand-warmer pockets and an additional interior chest pocket. The brown corduroy collar closes with a throat latch, and the jacket is finished with snap-adjustable outer cuffs, side vents and a collar D-ring.

Wax, Warmth and Weather
The heavier canvas and blanket lining may make this a little warmer than a traditional Bedale. The trade-off is weather protection: the lighter wax coating and open inner cuffs will not resist rain and wind to the same degree. This is best understood as a substantial waxed-canvas jacket for cool, changeable days rather than a dedicated wet-weather shell.
Sizing
Website sizes have been standardised for a clearer fit comparison: XS (US) corresponds to garment label 36/S, S (US) to 38/M, M (US) to 40/L, L (US) to 42/XL and XL (US) to 44/XXL. The size guide shows both labels. Choose the measurements that give you the amount of ease you prefer. The intended fit is medium to loose. Size down for a neater, more fitted shape, bearing in mind that the smaller size will also be slightly shorter through the body.
